RHU and Shandon Church Guild held a fun-filled Hallowe’en brunch at the village’s community centre on Saturday.

Despite – or perhaps because of – the dismal weather, a steady stream of visitors beat a path to the hall to enjoy soup and sandwiches and to browse various stalls, including ‘nearly new’ clothes for ladies, a raffle, a tombola and bric-a-brac.

Younger visitors to the event also took advantage of the opportunity to dress up in their most eye-catching Hallowe’en outfits and to create their own specially-designed pumpkin, with prizes for the best in both competitions.

Jan Crawford from Rhu and Shandon Church Guild said: “Although the weather was terrible, we had a good number of people join us. A big thanks to all who attended.”
