POLICE in Helensburgh say they now believe there was “no criminality” following a report of a woman being robbed in a street in the town on Hallowe’en.

Police Scotland had previously issued a public appeal for information after being told a 40-year-old woman had been robbed of her purse by two men in the Kirkmichael area.

A description was issued of two men being sought by police in connection with the alleged incident.

This week, however, police said in a statement: “Around 6.30pm on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 police received a report of two men having robbed a woman on Ben Bouie Drive, Helensburgh.

“Enquiries were carried out and on conclusion no criminality was established.”
