TWO people were arrested during road safety checks on the A82 north of Balloch last week.
Sixty-three vehicles were stopped at Arden during the operation by road traffic police, a specialist police motorcycle unit, and officials from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency on Wednesday, November 7.
Along with the two arrests, two of the vehicles stopped during the operation were immediately banned from the roads because of the seriousness of the defects discovered.
Other offences identified during the course of the operation included vehicles which were overweight, the carrying of dangerous loads, tachograph offences, on heavy goods vehicles, and defective brakes and lights.
A police spokesperson said: “Please ensure your vehicle is fit for the roads, including your work vehicle, before we do.”
