CHILDREN at Cardross Primary School proved that learning doesn’t have to be boring as they had a very special visit from Helensburgh firefighters recently.

Primary 1 pupils were treated to the fun afternoon learning about fire safety as part of the People Who Help Us teaching module.

Class teacher Katie Adirangga said: “The children were full of enthusiasm to meet the firemen, sit in the driving seat and they even got to use the hose to experience the power of the water used to put out fires.

“It definitely was the highlight of the term so far!

“Thank you very much to all the Fire Brigade in Helensburgh for everything that you do for our committee.”

Meanwhile, P6 pupils recently took charge of donations for the Helensburgh and Lomond Foodbank.

The children advertised their collection in school and explained to other classes the reasons behind the collection – which coincided with the annual ‘Harvest Festival’ in the school, where local senior citizens enjoyed a morning of entertainment and all guests received a soup package.
