Resurfacing works near the Erskine Bridge which were set to take place this weekend have been revised due to several events taking place and the run up to Christmas.
The M898 south of the bridge was scheduled to be resurfaced this weekend, however concerns relating to trunk road disruption close to the Christmas shopping period and over the cup final weekend has meant the work will now be restricted to overnights only.
Works will be carried out from 8pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday until 6am the following days.
Paul Lynch, Scotland TranServ’s Network Manager said: “Under this revised schedule, Scotland TranServ will implement a reduced treatment plan, resurfacing those carriageway defects most urgently in need of repair. At a later date more deeply affected parts of the M898 southbound carriageway will require a fuller treatment.
“To address these defects a weekend closure will be necessary at a time more convenient to stakeholders, communities, businesses and the events calendar. We will continue to consult with local authorities, emergency services and key stakeholders to ensure this important programme of work is completed as quickly and safely as possible.”
