COUNCILLORS approved a new housing strategy last week which is planned to bring more than 800 new homes to Argyll and Bute.
As reported in last week’s Advertiser, 130 of these are earmarked for Helensburgh as part of the authority’s Strategic Housing Investment Plan (SHIP).
Councillor Robin Currie, policy lead for communities, housing, islands and Gaelic, said: “To give Argyll and Bute a great future, we need to encourage people to move here, stay here and work here.
“Affordable housing is one of the keys to ensuring that we can attract and retain residents and employees for local businesses.”
