FESTIVE bargain hunters and parents of Parklands School pupils enjoyed a fun day of fundraising in Helensburgh at the weekend.

The parent council for the school which caters for children with complex learning difficulties and disabilities held their Christmas coffee morning on Saturday in the United Reformed Church hall in West Princes Street.

Visitors were treated to a tasty selection of festive food and plenty of great gifts for family members and friends at Christmas time.

Janet Frame, chairperson of the parent council at Parklands, wanted to thank everyone who came along and said she was delighted with the turnout and total amount raised.

She said: “Thanks to the local businesses and people that supported us by donating raffle prizes and to the parents and staff that gave up their free time to help out.

“Big thanks also to the Helensburgh Co-op store which donated some supplies.

“The morning was a great success. We raised just over £430 which is fantastic and the money will be put towards new equipment for the school.”
