ARGYLL and Bute Council is reminding Helensburgh residents that real Christmas trees can be disposed of at the town's household waste and recycling centre.
With the Christmas trees and associated decorations due to come down on or by Twelfth Night this weekend, the council is advising members of the public that real trees can be recycled at any of the council's waste facilities – including the Blackhill facility at the northern edge of Helensburgh.
The Blackhill recycling centre's opening hours are from 9.30am-4pm Monday to Friday, and from 10am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Last entry to the site is 15 minutes before closing time each day.
Other recycling facilities in Argyll and Bute can be found in Campbeltown, Dunoon, Oban and Lochgilphead and on the islands of Bute (Rothesay), Mull (Tobermory), Tiree (Gott Bay), Coll (Gallanach) and Colonsay (Kilchattan).
