A 40-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with dangerous driving for allegedly travelling at 71mph in a 30mph zone in a quiet Loch Lomondside village.
Police carrying out speed checks on the A83 in Tarbet say they saw a Kia Sportage travelling at speed in wet conditions at 4.45pm on Monday, January 7.
The vehicle was stopped after police using speed monitoring equipment clocked it allegedly travelling at more than twice the speed limit.
Due to a combination of the vehicle's speed and the road and weather conditions, the driver, understood to be from Erskine in Renfrewshire, was charged with dangerous driving.
A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
