IT'S no secret that there's plenty of fantastic scenery to be found wherever you look in Helensburgh and Lomond.

And the popularity of our regular Picture of the Week feature is testament to that.

Whether it's an impromptu snapshot taken on a phone as the rising or setting sun casts a stunning glow over the hills and seas, or the result of careful planning with top-of-the-range camera equipment, our readers' enthusiasm for sending in their pictures of their glorious surroundings was undimmed during 2018.

But with room for only one Picture of the Week in each edition, it means we rapidly run up a plentiful store of images for which we simply don't have space each week.

So this week, with winter holding Helensburgh firmly in its grip and likely to continue doing so for a while yet, we thought we'd take a stroll down memory lane and pick out just a few of our favourite Picture of the Week entries submitted by you, our readers, over the last 12 months.

Some are part of that backlog which built up steadily during 2018, others are ones which have already appeared in the paper but which so caught our eye that we couldn't resist sharing them with you one more time.

And remember, we're always on the lookout for your images of the area's gorgeous scenery throughout the year to come: all you need to do is email your favourites to editorial@helensburghadvertiser.co.uk with brief details of when, where and by whom they were taken.

Happy snapping!
