ONE of Loch Lomond's top wedding venues has won no fewer than NINE regional honours at the Scottish Hotel Awards.

The regional ceremony for the Argyll and Lomond area, held this week, saw the Lodge on Loch Lomond and its staff win more prizes than any other nominee.

There were four awards for the hotel itself – for the best large wedding hotel, best family hotel, best business hotel, and best large conference hotel.

And the hotel's entire wedding team also added to their honours with the award for 'wedding team of the year' – the second year running the Lodge's staff have picked up this prestigious award.

Meanwhile, five members of the Lodge’s team also picked up 'people of excellence' awards.

Anita Tamasova was named restaurant manager of the year, and Stephen McQueen picked up the 'maintenance and grounds' prize.

Sasha Jovanovic was chosen as drinks specialist of the year, and Graeme Brown was crowned as the sous chef of the year.

The hotel teamed up with the Advertiser last year to offer an amazing £6,000 wedding package in our most successful reader competition of 2018, won by Helensburgh couple Sharna Evitts and Dean Graham.

Sandra Cunningham, sales manager at the hotel, said: “We’re extremely proud of the team here at the Lodge on Loch Lomond, and unbelievably happy at the amount of awards we’ve come away with. It’s shaping up to be a pretty great year for us!”

The hotel will now move forward in all categories to the national awards, and hopes to be as successful there.
