AWARD-WINNING Cardross fiddler Ryan Young will return to home soil early next month to play in the latest ‘Famous Four O’Clock’ session at the Mackintosh Club in Helensburgh.

Ryan, a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, is a double BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award nominee, a Celtic Connections Danny Kyle Award winner and was a finalist in BBC Radio Scotland’s Young Traditional Musician competition in 2015 and 2016.

He was named ‘up and coming artist of the year’ at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards in 2016, and at the same ceremony the following year saw his debut album shortlisted for the ‘album of the year’ prize. 

A third nomination followed in 2018, while he was also voted ‘best musician of 2018’ on the folk website folking.com.
