PASSENGERS in Helensburgh faced further travel disruption on Tuesday morning amid difficult weather conditions.

ScotRail announced on Tuesday morning that the 9.56am train from Helensburgh Central station to Edinburgh Waverley had been cancelled due to a broken down train earlier in the day.

The 10.26am service from Helensburgh to Edinburgh, and the 11.19am and 11.48am trains from Edinburgh to Helensburgh, have also been cancelled.

Other services later on Tuesday are due to run with three coaches instead of six because of a faulty train.

According to ScotRail the following services are due to operate with half the usual capacity:

2.49pm Edinburgh-Helensburgh (calls at Glasgow Queen Street at 4.02pm)

3.19pm Edinburgh-Helensburgh (calls at Glasgow Queen Street at 4.32pm)

3.52pm Edinburgh-Helensburgh (calls at Glasgow Queen Street at 5.02pm)

4.54pm Helensburgh-Edinburgh (calls at Glasgow Queen Street at 5.38pm)

5.26pm Helensburgh-Edinburgh (calls at Glasgow Queen Street at 6.08pm)

5.56pm Helensburgh-Edinburgh (calls at Glasgow Queen Street at 6.38pm)

Snowfall across Helensburgh and Lomond has already caused delays on the roads, with further ice and snow forecast into Wednesday.
