EFFORTS to keep the shoreline free of marine litter in Rhu will step up a gear with a community beach clean this weekend.
The clean-up has been organised by the Rhu Clean-Up Crew – a social media group set up by Kate Williams and Rhiannon May, whose daily mission to keep the shore in the village clean featured in the Advertiser last month.
If you're interested in joining in the clean-up, simply meet at the Ardencaple Hotel on Gareloch Road in Rhu at 10am this Sunday, January 27.

Make sure you're well wrapped up against the cold, and bring along gloves and any litter-pickers if you have them.
Canine and child beach-cleaners are also welcome.
The clean-up is expected to last for around two hours.
