DRIVERS using the A83 next month could see up to an extra half an hour added onto their journey times when work begins to resurface a stretch of the vital transport link.

A section of the trunk road through the Rest and Be Thankful will be closed for four nights for major resurfacing works.

The essential maintenance is scheduled to be carried out between the hours of 8pm and 5am on Sunday, March 10 until Wednesday, March 13.

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, plan to resurface the westbound carriageway lane through the ongoing landslide mitigation project for a length of approximately 540 metres.

Drivers are being advised to use the appropriate diversion routes – adding up to an extra 30 minutes onto travel times - during the closure and plan their journeys accordingly.
