HELENSBURGH woman Marian Leech recently completed her 1,000th workout session – which helped her lose more than seven stones.

The fitness fanatic joined the Burgh Curves branch in 2010 in a bid to lose weight when her husband left for a tour of duty.

Since joining, the grandmother has lost 100lbs and 8.3 per cent body fat.

Marian hit the gym after attending a 30 minute workout session on a whim.

By the time her husband Bill returned he couldn’t believe his eyes.

At the end of January Marian celebrated her 1,000th workout at the gym.

Michelle Bain, of Curves Helensburgh, said: “Marian’s weight loss has truly been an inspiring journey, hardwork, dedication, persistence and a desire to change herself for the better has really paid off.”

“It just goes to show what can be achieved by one determined woman.

"Her confidence has grown with every pound she’s lost.

"The one thing that’s stayed the same? Her personality and contagious laugh.

“She shares her knowledge and support with other members and we’re so proud of the woman she’s become.”
