ARGYLL and Bute Council has issued a warning to businesses in Helensburgh and beyond over reports that a company has been claiming to sell safety booklets to help local schools.
The council published the warning on its social media channels on Tuesday.
The authority said in a Facebook post: “We have had reports that a company called www.safetyguide.co.uk are trying to sell safety guides to local businesses, saying that the guides will be going to help local schools.
“Please note: we have no connection with this company, do not endorse their products and do not ask people to support their schools in this way.”
If you are a local business, and have been subjected to bogus selling or high pressure sales techniques by this company, the council’s trading standards team is keen to hear from you on 01546 605519 or via email on tradingstandards@argyll-bute.gov.uk
