THE proceeds from the Helensburgh Savoy Musical Theatre Group’s annual ‘Sing For Your Supper’ concert have been presented to the area’s young carers.

A cheque for £1,000 was handed over by Jane Hepworth, chair of Helensburgh Savoy Musical Theatre Group, and Frances Rapallini, the group’s treasurer, to Sharon Richardson and Steven Thomson from the Helensburgh and Lomond Young Carers project.

The concert, featured in the Advertiser’s February 7 edition, saw members of a wide variety of musical groups from the Helensburgh and Lomond area take to the stage at the Victoria Halls to raise money for the project.

Savoy secretary Pauline Forrest said: “Helensburgh Savoy would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part or came along to support the performances at the event.

“We could not have raised such an amazing amount of money without our talented performers and audience.”

The Savoy’s members are now rehearsing for their spring concert and new members are always welcome. Rehearsals take place in St Michael’s Church Hall in William Street at 7.30pm.
