HEAVY rain and wintry showers look to be on their way to Helensburgh for at least part of this weekend, according to the latest weather forecasts.
The Met Office is predicting a spell of persistent wet weather in the area for much of Sunday, March 10, with temperatures of only two or three degrees above freezing.
The wet weather is expected to last from morning until late afternoon on Sunday, though drier conditions should return in the evening.
By contrast, conditions on Saturday are expected to be much more pleasant, with some sunny spells and only a few isolated showers likely, and temperatures of five or six degrees Centigrade.
A brisk westerly breeze on Saturday should ease off as the rain arrives on Sunday.
