A MAN from Helensburgh has been charged with possessing a controlled drug after a police search at his property last week.

Officers attended the address in Williamson Drive on Tuesday, March 5 based on intelligence received, after being granted a drugs search warrant from Dumbarton sheriff court.

The search was conducted, including the deployment of a trained drugs detection dog, and the 32-year-old tenant was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
