FIVE Peninsula youngsters have added their support to efforts to keep Helensburgh and Lomond’s shores free of marine litter.
Elidh Morton, Sophie Buchan, Fiona Bray, Katie Bray and Emma Bray, all members of the Cove and Kilcreggan Youth Cafe, rolled up their sleeves last weekend and, despite some thoroughly miserable weather, headed to the seaside to clear a substantial amount of rubbish from a particularly polluted stretch of shore.
The girls were presented with certificates of thanks at the youth cafe’s latest session on Saturday.
Susie Will, the youth cafe’s co-ordinator, said: “Running a youth cafe can be a task, but every so often a child excels, and the feeling of achievement and that we make a difference makes it worthwhile.”
