The Loch Lomond Rescue Boat has been given a funding boost from the Dunbartonshire branch of the Order of St John Scotland.

Branch chairman Colonel John Kelly visited the crew at their boathouse in Luss last week to present a donation of £700 to coxswain Ronnie Britton and deputy coxswain Clinton Salter.

This latest donation brought the total given to the rescue boat by the county branch to some £7,000 in recent years.

Ronnie said: “The Loch Lomond Rescue Boat team provide 24/7, 365-day cover of rescue services to Loch Lomond and surrounding shores and the continued support from the Order of St John nationally and locally helps to keep this vital service in operation.

“The crew pass on their thanks for this latest donation.”
