A GROUP of young footballers from Cardross made the headlines 15 years ago for helping to raise cash for charity.
Here's how the story appeared in our April 1, 2004 edition...
**********
BOYS from the U10 Red Arrow football club rolled up their sleeves and washed cars for children in Africa at Cardross Parish Church.
They raised £167 to buy footballs for children in Mzuzu, Malawi, who have been using rags rolled up into a ball instead.
The Arrows’ next project will be collecting old football shirts for the children.
