A HELENSBURGH couple who have been dancing together for 20 years will take to the floor with two celebrity partners next month... all in the name of charity.

Tim and Trish Willis, who are ballroom dancing teachers, are taking part in Glasgow’s answer to Celebrity Come Dancing.

It’s called Celebrity Come Dance With Me and Tim and Trish are each training a volunteer celebrity for the event.

Trish is teaching the Glasgow curry king and entrepreneur Charan Gill while Tim has former Miss Scotland 2007 and Miss United Kingdom 2007/8 Nieve Jennings as his partner.

The big event will be held on May 30 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow and will follow the format of the BBC show which inspired it, with the professionals training their celeb partners in two ballroom dances for the occasion.

Trish said: “The training has started and I am very fortunate in that Charan’s daughter runs the Curry Karaoke near the Tall Ship in Glasgow and we can train there. It’s brilliant!

“At the moment Nieve is very busy so Tim hasn’t been able to start his training and is able to help me. Charan is very keen and has a great sense of rhythm because he used to be lead singer in a band.

“He is such fun and we have a great laugh.”
