LUCKY children in Rosneath got the rare chance to “pie” their parents at a fun family event at the weekend.

The event, Who Let The Dads Out?, at St Modan’s Parish Church on Saturday, was organised to celebrate the first birthday of the group.

And what better way to celebrate a birthday than with dancing, outdoor games, candy floss, popcorn and a chocolate fountain?

There was also a pie-your-dad stall where brave fathers took a custard pie to the face – all in the name of fun, of course.

Rhona Knight, who helped organise the event, said: “Since I started the group as part of the family worker project form the Lochside Churches we have had an attendance of around 15, on average.

“For our first birthday we had 36 people in total attending throughout the session.

“A highlight of the event would be the pie-the-dads stall which was done with two of our regular dads and all the children and parents really enjoyed it.”

Organisers were keen to encourage adults and children to wear colourful fancy dress and guests were more than happy to oblige.

Despite the group’s title, mums, aunts and cousins were also invited along and all enjoyed a fantastic day out.
