DAVID Forbes received some good news 15 years ago this week and the Advertiser shared the story.

LOCAL lad David Forbes was delighted to receive news that he has been selected for Scotland’s badminton team for the European Championships in Geneva this month.
Scotland tackles the team event from April 16-19 before the players move into the individual competition from April 20-24.
In the team event Scotland has been drawn in a strong group with Germany, Sweden and Spain.
David has been selected for the men’s singles events. The trip to Geneva will be the high point of what has been a successful season which included being runner up at the national championships in Perth and winning the Scottish Universities title.
David’s interest in badminton started as an eight-year-old at Helensburgh’s Shuttleklub and from there he went on to gain recognition in Schools and University Badminton.
