A HELENSBURGH-based Indian eatery was poppa-dominant once again at an awards bash after picking up the best loved restaurant gong at the annual Scottish Curry Awards.

Annaya’s takeaway and restaurant continued their recent run of success by claiming the regional and overall prize at the ceremony in Glasgow’s Marriot Hotel on Monday, April 15.

The popular curry house was also victorious at the SPICE Awards in December last year, while it tasted success at the Scottish Asian Food Awards in November.

After this week’s award win, takeaway manager Samir Haider said further recognition was always welcome.

“We’re all delighted,” he said.

“To be honest, we weren’t really putting too much emphasis on awards this year but to be nominated in the first place and then to win was amazing.

“It’s our fifth trophy since December 2017 and we’re running out of space to keep them all now, which isn’t a bad problem to have!

“It really helps in getting our name out there, not just in Helensburgh but in the industry in general. People recognise us now after the last few years and we’re all very happy to win another award.

“We have to say thanks to all our customers who keep voting for us and our staff as well.”
