A KILCREGGAN man celebrated his 102nd birthday last week.

George Clark, who lives with his daughter Isobel McKie in Craigrownie Gardens, is bedridden but still managed to help Isobel blow out candles on a special cake.

George, who hails originally from Mauchline in Ayrshire, has led a charmed life.

He has survived FOUR heart attacks and a fall from a roof.

He was a joiner to trade but suffered from ill health and was unable to work for many years.

He joined the Army as a young man but was invalided out.

Isobel said: “Considering that he has suffered ill health all his life it is a miracle that he is still here and quite bright although he is too frail to get out of bed now.”

Mr Clark has lived in Kilcreggan since 1971.
