FOUR Helensburgh businesses played a large part in making a major snooker event a huge success this week.

The Legends of Snooker event saw six-times world champion Steve Davis and multiple runner-up Jimmy White go head-to-head in a three frame challenge match at the Play Drome in Clydebank on Friday night as they warm up for this month’s World Championships.

An audience of 400 people, many from the Helensburgh area, were there to watch the event – organised by the Advertiser’s sister paper the Clydebank Post – and a number of Helensburgh businesses sponsored the event.

The Curley family who run the Buffet Shop provided a fabulous buffet for the VIP guests and were represented on the night by Irene Curley.

Louise Higgins and Toni Howard of Let’s Party provided the balloon decorations and a team of staff to meet and greet.

Toni even volunteered to be the ‘body’ for Kilcreggan bodypainter Aileen Mullen to work on.

For the evening, Toni was painted in the traditional trousers and waistcoat of the snooker player with a fabulous Legends of Snooker design on the back featuring a snooker table, pocket and balls.

James Windebank of AddictAudio Events was on hand to steward the door.
