A WOMAN has been charged with possession of a class B drug after a police search of a property in Helensburgh last week.

Officers attended the home in Castle Wood Court on Tuesday, April 16 with a drugs search warrant granted by Dumbarton Sheriff Court.

Once within, a 31-year-old female was detained and a full search of the property was carried out, resulting in the woman being charged with possession of both herbal cannabis and cannabis resin.

A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal for the alleged offence.

In a separate incident, police issued a recorded warning to a 20-year-old man from Blantyre at the weekend who was found in possession of cannabis after being detained in Luss.

Officers were present in the village over the Easter bank holiday weekend because of the good weather bringing in a high number of visitors to the area.
