THE organisers of a fund-raising series of ‘dragon boat’ races on Loch Lomond this summer are calling for teams from Helensburgh and Lomond to take part.
Money raised at the event will help the Bobath charity provide specialist, tailored therapy for children and adults with cerebral palsy.
Organisers have four boats to fill and are encouraging people to rally friends, family and colleagues to take part.
The races will take place on Saturday, June 1 at Balloch Castle Country Park.
Participants can either enter as a half-boat with a team of six to eight people or a full boat with a team of 12-16.
For a half boat the entry fee is £250, with a £500 minimum fund-raising commitment required.
A full boat costs £500, with £1,000 minimum fund-raising.
No experience is needed – and each team is guaranteed at least three races during the qualifying rounds, before the two fastest teams of the day battle it out in the grand final.
