POLICE have reported a 44-year-old man to the procurator fiscal for allegedly buying booze for a teenager.
The man reportedly bought Buckfast, MD 20/20 and Dragon Soop for a 14-year-old youth on May 4 in Mountblow.
It is an offence to buy alcohol for a child and additional legislation came into effect in 2017 to stop supplying of booze to a child in public. There were also increased powers over licensing to crack down on shops caught selling to young people.
