Shantron farm in Luss offers after school club with a difference

The family, who starred in the BBC2 series This Farming Life, are inviting people to bring their school-age children to see new-born lambs.

Families going to the lambing after school club will have the chance to cuddle one of spring’s new arrivals.

The Lennox family say that visitors will hopefully witness a live birth, but obviously this can’t be guaranteed. However, you will get to see all the sheep being fed, including lambs that require hand feeding.

There will be plenty of time to handle young lambs and ask questions.

This is a real life experience and there could be a few moments that are best avoided by the squeamish.

The lambing after school club is now open from 4.30-6.30pm and costs £15 per person.

Fifteen spaces are available per day and children under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

You’ll need to wear outdoor clothing, wellies and preferably waterproofs to stay dry and you need to not mind getting dirty.

If you are pregnant or trying for children, the family advise you not to take part.

The farm is four miles south of Luss and can be found on the A817 Haul Road, about 400 metres west of the junction with the A82.
