LOMOND School is set to welcome home two of its alumni to provide an insight into their successful careers in the media industry.

The Helensburgh school is hosting a business breakfast with sports presenters Emma Dodds and Rory Hamilton on Wednesday, May 29.

Both former pupils, the pair have gone on to become familiar faces on television screens across the country, regularly covering Scottish and European football, rugby and golf, as well as major international sporting events.

Rory, originally from Cove, earned his first opportunity in sports broadcasting with STV after leaving Lomond School, before moving on to work with Setanta Sports, Sky Sports and ESPN.

Emma has worked for an array of broadcasters since her time at Lomond and is currently seen on BT Sport and Premier Sports’ football and rugby coverage.

Her job has taken her to live in Paris with Warner Bros and London with Sky Sports, before moving to the Middle East to become the first female head of sport at the influential Arab Media Group in Dubai.

Emma’s extensive experience includes working on flagship sporting events such as summer and winter Olympics, Commonwealth Games, football and rugby World Cups, plus golf majors, tennis grand slams and the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup.
