PLANS for improved public toilets and an electric motorhome service point at Tarbet Visitor Centre have been approved.

Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park Authority gave the green light for its own proposals, which also include alterations to the centre itself.

A report by planning officer Nicola Arnott recommended that the proposals were approved, and the park authority’s planning department has now done so.

Ms Arnott’s report said: “A small area of trees and vegetation exists between the proposed location and the loch and views from the loch will not be not be affected.

“A small area of rhododendron may need to be removed during works and a condition is required for a landscaping plan to ensure appropriate compensatory planting should loss of vegetation occur.

“It is recommended that planning permission is granted as it will upgrade and improve the existing facilities.

“There will be no detrimental impact on visual amenity and important views and the proposal complies with the overarching policies.”
