The competition featured pupils from several of the area’s primary schools, with the winner’s trophy eventually going to the team from Lomond School.

The tournament is part of a series of events held to raise funds for the charity in Helensburgh each spring, and adds to the money brought in via a sponsored swim, a grand fair at Helensburgh Parish Church and door-to-door collections around the town.

Another feature of the annual Christian Aid events programme in the town is a football tournament for the area’s primary schools organised by Ardencaple FC – don’t miss next week’s issue of the Advertiser for full coverage of the competition.
