THREE siblings aiming to become the first trio of brothers to row any ocean are to launch their boat for the first time into Loch Lomond this weekend.

The BROAR – a combination of ‘brothers’ and ‘oar’ – team is made up of Maclean brothers Ewan, Jamie and Lachlan, who were born in Edinburgh and raised on the north-west coast of Scotland.

The official launch of their vessel, which they hope will lead them to a place in the history books, will take place at 9am on Sunday, June 16 at Ardoch House.

The adventure-seeking siblings will take part in the 3,000-mile Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge on December 29, a demanding endurance event described as the 'world's toughest row'.

In doing so, they aim to raise as much money as possible for their two chosen charities – Feedback Madagascar and Children 1st.

Following the launch, there will also be a barbecue, entertainment and a drinks reception, starting at 12pm.
