PURVEYORS of the paranormal will have a chance to get up close and personal with Helensburgh’s most iconic building – as ghost stories past and present are brought to life.

In November, events company Scottish Ghost Nights is hosting a special evening of haunting tales at the Hill House, promising a night of spooky thrills.

The Ghosts of the Real Hill House event will take place on Saturday, November 30, inspired in part by the TV series The Haunting of Hill House, which captured the imagination of viewers worldwide but had no link to the Charles Rennie Mackintosh masterpiece.

Describing the event on their website, UK Ghost Nights said: “Forget fiction, this place has its very own ghost stories. Whilst the building is fairly modern in its design do not be fooled as there have been many ghostly sightings.

“With tales of a ghostly gardener sharpening his tools and sightings of persons unknown it makes for a good start for a ghost hunt.

“Current staff report of feelings of unease in the library where some are uncomfortable to go and sightings of children in what was the nursery.

“Then with all the changes in the recent building work on the outer box this may have stirred up the spirits. So we think it deserves a ghost hunt!”

Tickets for the event, from 7pm until midnight, cost £49 via
