A BARBECUE, car boot sale and bouncy castle proved the perfect combination for parents and children at St Joseph’s Primary last weekend as the school celebrated its summer fair in style.
The fun and games on offer helped draw in the crowds on Saturday, June 15, as mums and dads, with their young ones in tow, helped raise around £1,600 towards school funds.
Our photographer went along to capture some of the best action and highlights included the hook a duck challenge, face painting and a special visit from Chase, star of children’s TV programme Paw Patrol.
Donna Stevens, chair of St Joseph’s parent teachers association (PTA), said: “Everyone certainly had a great time and it was really popular.
“We had around 200-300 people attend and it stayed dry, which was obviously a bonus.
“The money raised on the day will be given to the school and will go towards anything the children or teachers need to help their resources.”
After the success of the annual summer fair, the school will wrap up events for this term with a leavers disco for primary seven pupils as they get set for big school later this year.

Almost £2,000 was raised on the evening as a Lego Run, a ‘beat the goalie’ stall, home baking, nail and face painting, and a chance to pan for treasure, among much more, proved popular. But among the host of attractions on offer, by far the most popular - perhaps not surprisingly - was the Soak the Teacher stall.
