POLICE are hunting for a man suspected of causing almost £5,000 of damage to a parked car in Helensburgh by pouring an unidentified substance over it.

A grey Mini was targeted in the early hours of Friday morning, June 21 while parked outside an address in West Princes Street.

The female owner of the vehicle reportedly spotted a man with his face covered pouring the substance over the car.

She told the Advertiser the cost of the damage has been estimated at £4,854.

Police say they are looking for information on the suspect, who is described as five feet nine inches tall, wearing a bright orange baseball cap, black donkey style jacket, dark trousers and a scarf over his face.

He was allegedly seen near Coulport Place shortly after the incident.
