STAFF, pupils and ex-colleagues from Garelochhead Primary School got together this week to say goodbye to their principal teacher, Ms Moira Johnstone, who is retiring after 45 years’ service in the school.

Ms Johnstone, who has taught three generations of Garelochhead residents, was presented with a book of memories compiled of comments and photographs from past pupils, present pupils, parents and staff, while P3 children expressed their gratitude by reading out poems they had written for her.

"We all wish her a very long and happy retirement."

Ms Johnstone's long service was commemorated by Argyll and Bute Council with a beautifully engraved quaich presented to her at the service by the head teacher.
