A LARGE-SCALE disturbance in Helensburgh town centre resulted in two people being arrested at the weekend, according to police.

Officers were called out to Sinclair Street on Friday evening, June 28, after a report of an incident in the area.

A number of persons were said to be "distressed" at the location and officers noted numerous witness statements from those present.

After a subsequent enquiry, a 15-year-old boy and a 31-year-old woman, both of East King Street, were identified and charged with five counts of alleged assault, two of vandalism and a disorder offence.

Police say the matter will be reported jointly to the procurator fiscal and the children’s reporter.
