HUNDREDS of people from far and wide are expected to head to Luss this Saturday, July 6, for the village’s annual Highland Games.
A busy programme for the day features all the traditional favourites such as Highland dancing, pipers, track, field and hill athletes, cycle races, wrestling contests and ‘heavy’ events.

As part of the Clan Colquhoun International Society’s four days of events in the area, also including a July 4 celebration, the Games on Saturday will also feature a mock ‘clan battle’ with members of the Clan Buchanan and Clan Ewen.
READ MORE: Helensburgh Bicentenary Pipe Band Championships in picturesSaturday’s fun starts with a parade from the centre of Luss to the Highland Games Field, leaving at 10.45am and led by Patrick Colquhoun, Younger of Luss, and the Helensburgh Clan Colquhoun Pipe Band, ahead of the opening ceremony at 11am.
The competitions start on the completion of the opening ceremony, and are expected to run until around 4.30pm.
