ARROCHAR Primary pupils signed off from school for the summer holidays in style with a wonderfully wicked performance of the Wizard of Oz.

Children from P1 to P7 all had a role to play in the production at the Three Villages Hall, with the successful evening show a complete sell out.

Colourful costumes lit up the stage as characters including the Evil Henchmen - the Wicked Witch of the West's scheming sidekicks - were added in.

For those who chose not to take up acting roles in the play, there were plenty of other, equally important, responsibilities, including looking after props, lighting and sound.

Head teacher Alison Palmer said: "It was a fabulous show, the children were outstanding.

"A huge thank you to all staff and pupils for their hard work.

"It was a real community event and was very well supported and appreciated."

T-shirts, photographs and sequin reveal cushions were all sold on the day with the funds raised from the merchandise and a raffle going towards the school and upkeep of the hall.

The school decided to donate half the total raised from ticket sales to the Three Villages Hall, contributing a massive £522.50.
