HELENSBURGH Community Council is looking for volunteers to give the shrub beds in Colquhoun Square some tender, loving care.

Following a review of the state of the beds, work parties will be carrying out weeding, trimming, planting and mulching with bark chips on Saturday, July 13 and Saturday, July 20.

The community council has taken on responsibility for maintaining some areas of the square on behalf of Argyll and Bute Council in the face of budget cutbacks and shrinking staff numbers at the local authority.
