THE rich and varied history of Garelochhead and the surrounding area will be the focus of a rather special event in the village this weekend.
The Gibson Hall community centre in the village is playing host to an afternoon tea with a difference on Saturday, July 20 – when, in addition to teas, coffees and delicious sandwiches and cakes, there will be fascinating photos, presentations and videos to enjoy, taking a look back at the history of the area and revealing many fascinating facts about how the village and nearby districts have evolved over the years.
Entry to Saturday's event costs £4.50 per person, and all proceeds will go towards the upkeep of the Gibson Hall, a registered Scottish charity which is run entirely by volunteers.
For more information on what's happening at the centre in the coming weeks and months, take a look at the Gibson Hall's Facebook page.
