RAIL services from Helensburgh Central to Glasgow are being disrupted because of a train fault.

Services on the Helensburgh-Edinburgh, Balloch-Airdrie, Dumbarton-Springburn and Milngavie-Edinburgh routes are subject to delays or cancellation as a result of the fault on a train at High Street station in Glasgow.

Shortly before 10am ScotRail said the broken down train was on the move, but that disruption was still expected to last until 11am.

Although the breakdown happened on the eastbound line, the knock-on effects of the disruption mean that the 10.22am and 11.23am services from Edinburgh to Helensburgh, which should have called at Glasgow Queen Street at 11.31am and 12.32pm respectively, have been cancelled.

Services on the Helensburgh line were also disrupted on Monday evening when a tree which fell on to overhead wires caused delays and cancellations to westbound services via Glasgow Queen Street low level.
