THE Plastic Free Helensburgh community group is holding its monthly litter pick this weekend.

Anyone interested in joining is asked to meet at 3pm on Saturday outside Helensburgh Parish Church and to bring gloves, a rubbish bag and a litter pick, if you have one. A limited number will be provided on the day.

The litter pick will run from 3pm - 4.30pm and anyone joining in is free to stay for as little or long as they like.

Young helpers are also welcome.

Next Saturday, the group will hold an information day from 11am to 9pm with a container "beach hut" provided by Cube Life.

There will be information about the group and how people can play their part in living a more environmentally friendly life as well as a litter pick race and a waste sorting challenge.

The event takes place at 33 East Clyde Street on Saturday, August 17.
