FAMILIES from Helensburgh and beyond headed to Cardross at the weekend for two fun-filled days at Ardardan Estate.

The farm and garden centre drafted in a host of inflatables and arts and craft activities for children to enjoy as the summer holidays reach their climax, while there was also an opportunity for the grown-ups to indulge in their passion for classic vehicles with a vintage tractor rally on Sunday.

Ardardan’s Sue Montgomery said: “The rally was started when we were approached by local tractor enthusiasts to give a venue to showcase local tractors and since then it has become one of our favourite days on our events calendar.

“This year we had to change the date of the event to coordinate with the development of our new Farm Park. So, with various things to consider, we very much appreciate the support all the tractor owners made to attend.

“We usually host a family fun weekend before the schools go back but we decided to put the two events together this year and we were delighted to have lots going on for families.

“We really hope that everyone who came along enjoyed their day and we thank everyone very much for coming, especially given the typically dreich Scottish weather.”
