A MAN has been charged with allegedly possessing and producing controlled drugs following a search of his property in Helensburgh last week.

Police attended an address in Drumfork Court on Friday morning, August 9, with a drugs search warrant issued by Dumbarton Sheriff Court.

The 25-year-old householder was charged after officers searched the property and allegedly recovered a quantity of controlled drugs.

The man will be the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal after being charged with producing controlled drugs and two counts of alleged possession of cannabis and white tablets which have been sent for further analysis.

Police said he has also been charged with allegedly stealing electricity.
